A new gazebo was built on the corner of Broadway and Main Street in honor of Mrs. Virginia Robertson Highers and all retired teachers of Trousdale County. A dedication service was conducted in 2004.
City Hall, one of the newest buildings in Hartsville, houses the Metro Sheriff Dept and other Government officials. The Chief Deputy is Wayland Cothron and the location is 210 Broadway.

The Building Community of the Hartsville Masonic Institute placed the monument of the Courthouse Bell in the front yard of the Historic Court House in Downtown Hartsville
Front North side 1861-1865. The Battle of Hartsville was held here December 7th, 1862 and their were 1500 Confederates under General John H. Morgan, swimming the icy Cumberland surprised and captured a large federal Garrison. Major John D. Allen Chapter Voc. marks the spot to honor this heroic victory. East 1917-1918. The former Trousdale County High School has now become the Jim B. Satterfield Middle School. The new high school was finished in the fall of 2004. The address of the Jim B. Satterfield Middle School is 210 Damascus Ave.
